Almost 3 years later...

My last blog post was almost three years ago, guess I kind of let that slide a bit? I had actually forgotten that I even had a blog, I knew it was out there somewhere but where exactly... Glad to have found you!

So much has changed in the time that I stopped blogging. That little baby is now a three year old little boy. I am no longer a "working" mom, I am a "stay at home" mom. I am still doing the calligraphy, and traveling down the long and winding road of recovery...

I always enjoyed blogging, and it was a lot of fun, but with facebook, who still reads blogs? It turns out that many still do, and what a great way to connect with others. I am looking forward to getting reacquainted. But for now, I am glad that I found you and I might even give you much needed face lift...

Welcome to 2010...

I am back. I cannot believe that it has been since October when I last blogged. Forgive me?!
Where has the time gone?

Seriously, I missed Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. I even missed returning to work after my maternity leave, Ty starting daycare, our annual Disney World trip over Christmas (yes, we took Ty at exactly 4 months - see how thrilled he was? He had fun, really. Loved Small World, not so excited about Pirate's. Liked Pooh, not too sure about Eeyore.), my first Bridal Show of the year, and some amazing calligraphy projects that I was so blessed to be a part of!

Wow. Thanks goodness that I am still a regular on Facebook, though. What an amazing tool to keep up with everyone without having to "blog". And, I did keep up pretty well with the digital pictures, and even have a few videos of Ty's first (giggles, eating rice with a spoon, disney trip!)

And Ty is no longer 8 weeks, he is 20 weeks and counting. Getting bigger everyday. He is amazing, although this week has been a bit rough with a respitory infection that has him using a nebulizer every 4 hours. That just means a little more cuddle time with mama (and daddy!).

So, I guess over the next few days I will try to catch up over the past few months and give everyone a sneak peek into what is happening in our little corner of the world for 2010. Only, I will just try to take it a day at a time, and treasure those days. Time is going way to fast lately, and I need it to slow down!

I hope that the new year is treating everyone well!

while I have a sleeping babe in my arms...

it's time to update the blog!

Tomorrow, Ty will be 8 weeks old. Unreal, how time flies. Part of me is screaming "slow down" because I want him to stay small...and I just have a few weeks of maternity leave left... I am loving staying at home with my little guy! But, part of me is so excited to see Ty growing and thriving and changing more and more every day.

The last few weeks have been a bit rough, I will not sugar coat it. First, the entire experience of giving birth and riding that high of finally welcoming him into the world and introducing him to friends and loved ones. I swear we went full tilt for the first four weeks, between visitors and doctors appointments. We even took Ty on his first trip to Chicago to visit Grandma and Grandpa Buck. We spent 5 days there, where we were able to spend time with Kevin's family. Kevin's brother, Steve and his wife Terri, flew in from New Mexico with 2 and a half year old Sydney and their new daughter, Elizabeth, who is three months old. There was a shower/open house held for the new little ones, which was exciting. So many new faces to meet! When we returned home, things settled down, and we were able to settle into a routine. I have to admit, going from working full time to being at home focusing on him 24/7 was a bit hard to adjust too. I was not prepared for the lonliness, and of course you add sleep deprivation and hormones in there and it was just tough, but things are a bit better each day. Kevin is an amazing daddy and does a great job taking care of both of us...there was one night he came home, took one look at me and said put on your shoes, we are going shopping...what I really longed for was hours of uninterrupted sleep and a hot shower, but shopping will do!
So now here it is, the end of October and Halloween is in a few days. Tyler is an amazing little guy with a ton of personality. In the past few weeks, he really smiles and coos.. especially if we prompt him. He loves church - in fact, when Kevin is working tech during the services, I have thought about just staying for all three services since he is so good - he loves the lights and music, and is just a little flirt. Last Sunday was our last service in our "old" Church - as we just completed a five year building project of a brand new Church a few miles away. This Sunday is the first service in the "new" Church. (Another Church did purchase our old building, so it is still staying a Church, thank goodness. I don't think I could watch it be torn down) I was a bit sad to leave, we have been attending that church (building) for over 7 years and it was the building we were married in, but the tought of raising Tyler in our new church with an incredible Children's wing is comfort...time to make new memories!
Tyler is still sleeping in our room, in his lamb seat... but he is sleeping so that is the best thing! He loves being out and about, and really is just a happy baby. Today he spent close to 45 minutes on his play mat, just looking into the mirror and kicking and talking, and loves being in his swing (God bless whomever invented that!) And of course, he just loves being held. I can't believe that he is changing and growing so fast, I am trying to take as many pictures as I can to preserve and document the little things in his baby book...and to share with friends and family all over the country. What did we ever do without digital media?

I am still in awe when I look at him that he is here and God gave him to us...last night I read Ty his first story - a book that my best friend Stefanie gave us - entitled "God Gave You to Us". What a perfect story...
